Removeskins from tomatoes and discard. Core tomatoes. Cut each tomato into 6 wedges. Remove the seeds from each wedge and place in the strainer and put rest into the other bowl. 1 Strain tomatoes through a food mill. Follow the recipe for freezing stewed tomatoes above and strain them through a food mill after cooling. 2. Fill freezer containers with sauce. Fill the sauce into freezer containers or jars, leaving one inch headspace. 3. Seal the jars. Close with lids and freeze.
Step3: Add Thickeners. Now that the tomato paste has been added, it's time to add thickeners. If using arrowroot powder or cornstarch, combine it with a small amount of cold water in a bowl and stir until there are no lumps left. Then, slowly pour the mixture into the hot tomato juice while whisking continuously. Rinsethe tomatoes well, remove the stems, and cut into chunks. Fill a blender jar with the tomato chunks and blend until the tomatoes have all reduced to a fine sauce.
